3.5 stars by me, rounded up to 4. An interesting story, realistic characters. Has a rather dramatic ending but there is some dramatic tension throughout. Copies seem scarce.

This was my first Elizabeth Taylor and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a word is out of place, not one character is totally likeable nor are their choices commendable. Nevertheless it is a compelling read with an important theme: trying to avoid negative emotions is counterproductive. Taylor is skilful at creating believable milieux and realistic characters. This is a book I would recommend.

Reason Read: Reading 1001 Dec botm
This is the last book written by English author Elizabeth Taylor and she wrote this while dying and it was published after her death. This story explores illness, death, and dying. The title tells us that this book will explore "blaming".
