This is so not what I expected. I was expecting a nice feel good story about love, family, sisterly bonding with a bit of magic involved. Instead what I got is a book about a bunch of miserable shallow people. Like othes have said it is very rapey. All men are sexually attracted to the women mostly Gillian. They would do anything to fuck them. Yes fuck, that is how it is described, no sweet thoughts or romantic notions. I couldn't help but compare the movie to the book. I love the movie. I can't even tell you how many times I've watched it. It has my Queen...Sandra Bullock in it, and the only other person's movies I rewatch with as much regularity is one of my other other Queens...Julia Roberts.

So this is one of those few times I will say that I enjoyed the movie more than the book. Had I known about this before years of watching and falling in love with the movie, would I ...more
