Bittersweet poignant story. You really feel like a child of the South.
How I got a Master's degree in English without ever reading this book, I'll never know. It is officially the best book I've ever read. Mockingbird is everything I want in a book--great story, engaging characters, and a simplicity of style that is amazing.

This was mandatory reading for 10th grade English at my school. I should probably re-read it one day. I remember liking it, but I'm sure I'd get something different out of it now that I'm a bit more grown up. ;)
