A decent paranormal fiction story...I read it in one sitting, so I guess I can't find too much fault with it! I did figure out a few plot points well before the protagonist did, and I find it irritating to sit around too long while the main character plays catch-up, but that's a pretty minor quibble. Overall, I thought it was an interesting setting and I'm looking forward to reading more.

I saw this in a bookstore and it looked interesting, so I waited a while for a copy from the library. But now I can't remember what seemed intriguing about it ... it seems like fairly typical paranormal romance? Admittedly, I didn't get very far. I liked what I saw of the characters, but it didn't seem like the story would be particularly new-to-me.

I wasn't exactly floored by this book but it was definitely good enough to make me want to look for more in the series, even though from time to time, over the course of the book, I went, "Alex, are you really that dumb? Yeah, you are," and by the end of the book, my reaction was more or less, "That's it?" Still, I liked Alex well enough. But I especially loved Falin! I wanted to like this more than I did. It has interesting characters and some creative world building but it just seemed very average. Some of the writing is pretty awkward and interrupts the flow of the story. I'm not saying that I won't give this series another try but I don't feel compelled to run to the library of the bookstore right now or any time soon.
