As always with Diane Chamberlain, once you get into her books it is extremely hard to stop reading them. She has a talent for throwing out small pieces of information a bit at a time to reel you in and keep you moving forward.

When I was about two-thirds of the way through this book, I signed on to Goodreads to look through some of the other reviews of this book. While the ending surprised me, I was left to feel like the subject of post-traumatic stress disorder was skimmed over. There seemed to be no reason why the child who stopped speaking after (possibly) witnessing her father's suicide suddenly started speaking again.
