This is just a really great romance. Nothing particularly special, the dialogue doesn't blow you away or anything, but it's just really really nice. I was, suddenly, in the mood for some blue-eyed Hardy Cates (having "met" him before in Sugar Daddy) and lucky for me this book was on the library shelf. I stayed up until 2:30am reading this (and my alarm goes off at 4:30 am, so I'm in trouble today) and I nearly finished it in on sitting.

This was a very enjoyable, quick read. The author goes in-depth on the subject of abused wives, which is part of the main character's background and it's really quite interesting and fast-paced. She also gets into the oil recovery industry in Texas, not a subject that would probably interest most people but something new, none the less. I could not put this book down. ...more

The follow up to Sugar Daddy, this was a great book. THe subject matter (abusive husband) was somewhat difficult for me to read about but overall it was very well done. I can't wait for another contemporary romance from Lisa Kleypas. ...more

A woman moves back home after a divorce and puts her life and emotions back together. The IS a romance, but with some darker themes than others I have read. Also lots of graphic sexy time.
