I enjoyed this book. It’s a great romance book for readers not normally romance fans, and I’m not. Romance and horror and religion are the only genres I don’t often read. In this book, I loved the humor and the sweetness and the few serious storylines too. It’s light and fun and funny but it touches on some very serious topics. (view spoiler) At first I felt a bi

I absolutely adored this book! It made me laugh out loud pretty much every single chapter (kinda embarrassing as I mostly read it on the train) and shed a few happy tears as well. I loved the characters, and love that Leon and Tiffy's friendship grew through post-it notes.
Honestly, I don't think there was anything about this book that I didn't love, which makes it incredibly difficult for me to write this review without just squeeing all over the place. It's not high literature, but it was char ...more

The most there-was-only-one-bed book of all time. Tiffy and Leon both need to save money, so they begin sharing Leon's one-bedroom apartment: he's a night-shift nurse, so he gets it from 8 am to 6pm, and she gets it the other half of the day. They never meet in person because of Reasons, but exchange bantery notes. Points to O'Leary for making these notes actually charming and cute, as well as for coming up with what may be my dream relationship scenario: having my own space, but also a boyfrien

I absolutely loved most of this. It's kind, it's gentle, it's got a ton of epistolary elements, and it does the work of establishing the relationship. I liked the characters, and I loved the way the author took a faintly silly setup absolutely seriously and made it work. I did not love the events at the 75% mark, which hit my embarrassment button HARD and seemed totally unnecessary besides, but I still very much enjoyed the book.

How come in the past years, every other book I've read has something to do with gaslighting and emotional abuse?
Is it just that I began to notice this after realizing it for myself or has female society as a collective begun to address this more head-on?
Anyway, O'leary approached the topic with such care without being heavy-handed while also creating dialogue, descriptions, and characters that are all simply duh best. ...more

I'm reading Ron Chernow's "Hamilton" bio as my summer reading project 2021, and given its length, I promised myself I'd take a break halfway through and read something light and fun. This fit that need perfectly! Really warm, fun, but not saccharine contemporary romance. I loved Tiffy and Leon, and their relationship built over time on post-it note communication! I think I could function quite well in a relationship like that, LOL! But just as I would personally need more - so do Tiffy and Leon
