What Members Thought
Sometimes better in the concept than the execution, this book is all about mood and broad expanse of vision: picture the Earth, billions of years from now, the sun swollen and feeble, the inhabitants lethargic and dissolute. A sobering and majestic setting; now write a story about it that is engaging and involving! Vance's flowery narrative style in this book adds to the mood as much as it detracts, sometimes, from the readability. All in all, good to have read.
