Although this is only her second book, Rebecca Rasmussen has become one of my favorite authors. This is just the kind of book I love. Beautiful setting. Memorable and believable characters. Lovely writing. A good plot. There is a lot of sadness to this book. Set in the woods of Evergreen, Minnesota, the story begins in 1938 with the arrival of newlyweds Eveline and Emil.
