Fantastic! Terry Hayes has written some intense scripts, and he has an eye for a cinematic story. I would love to see this as a limited series so that they didn't need to leave out any of the complexities or backstories. This wasn't just a simple, "Oh no! We have only twenty-four hours diffuse the bomb!" type of story, but took a deep dive into both the titular character and his nemesis, as well as weaving in a brutal murder, another mysterious death, weaponized viruses . . . all kinds of crazy

I heard of this book though a book review blog, and I disliked the book so much that I unsubscribed from their future reviews. I did however, finish the book- so it was at least vaguely compelling. UGH.
The book is written in very many very short chapters- almost all of which end with a hilariously overwrought cliffhanger- IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN AT THAT MOMENT WHAT WAS IN THE CAR, which is immediately where you pick up the next chapter- IN THE CAR WAS A LETTER SIGNED BY THE VERY PERSON I WAS CHASING ...more

This was disgustingly Islamophobic, sexist, and xenophobic. At its best, this was fun in the same campy way that I enjoyed Andy’s over-the-top fantasies about being Burt Macklin: FBI on Parks and Recreation. There is a nude lesbian dissolving in Drano after a gruesome murder and post-Morten tooth removal! Someone rips out a guy’s eyeballs to spoof a retina scanner! The author continually harps on the idea that the protagonist is “THE BEST SECRET AGENT IN THE WORLD,” but definitely fails to shore
