What Members Thought

I slogged through most of the first fifth or so of this book; I preferred Thursday in her “real” world of the first two books. I was concerned that this third book wouldn’t be as enjoyable as I’d expected it would be. I ended up loving it though, and laughed as much as I did while reading the first two books, and cared as much about Thursday and certain other characters as much as well.

I think this is my favorite of the Thursday Next novels, which rank among my favorite series, meaning that this is one of my favorite books. An incredibly inventive plot (an incredibly inventive world, actually, with it's own laws of physics, if we're getting down to it) filled with literary in-jokes and featuring three dimensional characters, specifically a bad ass heroine and a very enjoyable villain. I mean, really, what more could you want?

Fab!

It took me a while to get into this book--the reason, I think, because it started out so differently than the first two. You are thrown into a completely new society that was only hinted at before in the Well. Once I got through that, however, I devoured the novel. Lots of intrigue, politics, murder, mayhem, and other fun chaos to keep the reader reading and slightly off-balance.

The best of the series (although I haven't read the new one yet).
