i thought i would love this with all those lovely reviews and yet i really didn't like it. i didn't like the way these two were with each other, to me it didn't feel like love, they way they were together was strange and so didn't feel right. must admit that i skimmed through the last half of the book, so i might have felt different if i had read it all, but just couldn't deal with the people and their interactions and feeling that this is a romance book!

Oh my goodness I fell under the spell of this book and fell HARD! The first 15 or 20 pages didn't thrill me, it was too much of a "chick lit" vibe and I wasn't overly fond of the protagonist, Lucinda. But after that, woohooooo. I never really loved Lucinda/Lucy Hutton, her freak-outs were annoying and her behavior was often bizarre (literally rubbing herself all over him and then the next day despising him), but I fell head over heels for acerbic, shy, gorgeous Joshua Templeman, and I adored the

This had some fun moments and banter, a great vacation read to zip through. I liked the bit of career planning for the main female character and the tell-off scene towards the end was so satisfying. This is already leaving my mind so I can't recall all the details, but that's just fine for this kind of light read.

I had this recommended to me, because I'd enjoyed "The Unhoneymooners" so much. I'm glad, because even though it couldn't quite compare to TU, I still really enjoyed it, and read most of it in a day. Chick-lit has come a LONG way since the late 90s/early 00s when I mostly gave up on the genre, and I couldn't be happier.
Once again it's the enemies-to-lovers trope, although the switch from one to the other is a lot more sudden, and not quite as believable. Still, I loved seeing how Lucy and Josh c ...more

I've heard this title has a lot of fat shaming, so I'll pass.

I put a hold on this one primarily because of the cover, and secondarily because I liked the preview chapter on Overdrive. I don't regret having read it; it's got problems, but even so, I stayed up way too late finishing this one.
I liked the setting (publishing house) and the mock arguing between the two main characters, as well as the way they eventually admitted their mutual attraction. However, there were a few things I found not great:

Cute, light, and extremely unputdownable. Could've done without the 500 short jokes.

Okay, so to be honest, it took me a bit to get into this book. It took me a couple days to really commit to listening to it. The beginning of the book is a bit rough between the hero and heroine. I mean, they're REALLY enemies and they are NOT nice to each other. And when that sort of thing is going down and the hero is being a douche to the heroine, it (hopefully understandably) makes me not want him to get the girl. Plus.... *sigh* It's written in first person present tense. Li ...more

Well, it's been a while since I had to don my mask and cape and venture forth as my alter ego, Minority Opinion Girl, but...I didn't really love this book. Sorry, rest of the world. But this book left me confused more than anything else. Things could get vaguely spoilery along the way as I try to figure out what the Samuel Langhorn hell was going on, so be warned.
