This isn’t a bad book, and I think if I knew more about art and the process of creating art, I would have appreciated it far more. I was captivated by the beginning and the end, but I must admit, the middle third of the book was something that I skimmed. I also had a problem with many of the main characters, including their artistic snobbery and their bizarre lifestyle, which made some of the later revelations even tougher to swallow.
