I was pretty dubious at the end of the first chapter where the "hero" is a (understandably, but still rudely) jerk to the heroine, but decides to let her stay for 3 times the money she already contractually paid. In cash. If you're really determined to not rent a room, either don't do and give the person their money back and let them stay the night since they've nowhere else to go, or take what they already agreed.
