I read this because it was available through my public library as an Overdrive Big Library Read. I hoped it would be a YA palate cleanser after my previous YA disappointment, Belzhar. I was pleasantly relieved to find Anatomy of a Misfit was a much better book. I thought the writing was smart and funny, the narrator was likeable (though flawed), and the story was well-paced and cleanly structured.

It took me awhile to like this book because I thought the main character was kind of awful, however, I really ended up loving it! If you saw Mean Girls and wanted even more drama, this is for you.
