This book was not for me, but it clearly was enjoyed by many readers. If you're looking for teen action with super powers , try the Amazon sample and see how you feel about the prose. I thought the writing was pedestrian, which is not saying it's bad -- it was straightforward and easy to follow. The characters were likewise a bit flat and stereotypical, but okay. I also change how i rate teen books, since I find i enjoy them in a different way than adult fiction. So in adult fiction this probably would have been a 2-3.5 in teen its a 3-4. I know that's weirdly random, but hey that's my brain.
I enjoyed this, though the teen characters were explored, the adult characters were VERY flat. A few were explored near the end (Nash, for ex.) but that could have all been done early on for us to get to know him better. I really just didn't care about any of them b ...more
