I am lucky enough to count Jen Adams (author of the amazing Babylit board books and the Edgar the Raven books) as a good friend. A very enjoyable, quick read. This is the story of Boy in the year 1350, who travels with a pilgrim from his home in France to Rome in search of holy relics. Set in the Middle Ages, this story gives a nicely realistic portrayal of a Europe ravaged by plague. I think this is very well-suited for middle readers and perhaps some younger readers, as well as adults interested in a good story.

Completely delightful and not at all what I expected.
