Much thanks for Goodreads’ friend Shomeret for telling me about this book. One thing we have in common is our love of wolves. I hadn’t known about this book and I wasn’t necessarily currently in the mood to read another book by this author, but I’m so glad I read this one.

I love wolves so I was particularly interested in this book. I’m also interested in the right to die (which I’ve been engaged in conversation about at another one of my book reviews), quality of life, decisions about prolonging

Ugh...the idea of this really doesn't interest me but I know myself and I know I'll get sucked in eventually. Best to just admit defeat and get it now.

Update-So like I said before, the concept of this book really didn't interest me at all but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one. The social issue in this book, removing life support from someone in a persistent vegetative state, was handled better than issues in some of her other books. She wasn't quite as heavy h

I was surprised that I liked this book as much as I did. A lot of people found it hard to like the main protagonists, but I think if you placed the character of the father in a high power job (rather than living with wolves), people would immediately identify with his constant need to be away from his family.

I have been disappointed with a few of Jodi Picoult's books, but this was one that grabbed my attention from the start. Its questions of family, love, old bitterness and anger and the fear

Is it just me or are these books getting worse? Perhaps Picoult is running out of plot ideas? There wasn't a likable character in the book. If you are a fan, this one is worth reading for the descriptions of Luke living with the pack, but I wish I had just read the autobiography referenced in the credits instead. ...more

I normally like books by Jodi Picoult but this one didn't really do it for me. The subject matter didn't capture me and I found it too predictable. ...more

Good story, kept my interest, but something about Jodi Picoult's writing is shallow to me, though. I'm sorry, Heather. ...more

It took me awhile to get into this, but because I love Jodi Picoult, I persisted. And stayed up until past 2:30 this morning to finish it. Not her best, but compelling and fascinating in parts.

As a HUGE fan of Jodi Picoult, I have to say I was not overly impressed. I almost bought this at Target a time or two and I am glad I did not waste my money and borrowed from the library instead.
