This surreal novel posits that perhaps hell is just a place where things are a little different - people become part of their bikes if they ride them too long, and you can go to paradise and ask for anything you want (but you can't take it back with you). It was weird, and I think Kafka does the whole existential alienation thing better, but I think it's good to get into surreality every now and then.
