Tegan lives in future Australia. Her main concerns are her music, activism, and her new boyfriend--until she's killed at an environmentalist rally. She wakes up a hundred years even further into the future, the first successful cryogenic revival of an army project. Some things are better: composting, recycling, and water saving are commonplace, while racism, homophobia, and transphobia are mostly gone. Plus, computers are teensy! Some things are worse: climate change has escalated, and resource

When you hear "this isn't your usual dystopia - this is different" there's a part that says "uh huh. prove it". I'll grant that this isn't the usual dystopia, and Healey certainly knows how to sell a story but, well, this isn't amazing.
Tegan (Teeg to her friends) lives in 2027, loves music (especially the Beatles), has just started going out with her brother's friend Dalmar and is into free running (the "non tricky flip" version of parkour). Then she's shot and suddenly it's 2127 and she's compl ...more

A great science-fiction novel that examines the way we deal with--and sometimes ignore--the big issues around us. I have to admit, it was great reading a YA sci-fi that wasn't a dystopian. Healey did a great job creating a future that feels truly possible--right down to the way humanity tends to exploit those less fortunate around us. Though this may sound like the future is bleak for humanity, the book is filled with great characters who are eager to make change happen, even at great cost.

It definitely reads like something that was written in the past year or two, with the insight into how ...more

A quick read. It's not that original, and is pretty obvious with its political lessons, but the main characters are very engaging and it has a fast paced plot.
