Tegan lives in future Australia. Her main concerns are her music, activism, and her new boyfriend--until she's killed at an environmentalist rally. She wakes up a hundred years even further into the future, the first successful cryogenic revival of an army project. Some things are better: composting, recycling, and water saving are commonplace, while racism, homophobia, and transphobia are mostly gone. Plus, computers are teensy! When you hear "this isn't your usual dystopia - this is different" there's a part that says "uh huh. prove it". I'll grant that this isn't the usual dystopia, and Healey certainly knows how to sell a story but, well, this isn't amazing.

A quick read. It's not that original, and is pretty obvious with its political lessons, but the main characters are very engaging and it has a fast paced plot. ...more
