This is more of a 3.5 for me - I liked the premise, I liked the setting, and I liked Ms. Clayton's writing, but it could have used some tightening up. At its heart, it is a mystery, but it sometimes veered off-course.

I didn't really start to enjoy this book until 80 pages in. It seems I could never quite put together which character I was getting the story from. Then I thought it got better, but it quickly fell apart.
The story is about 4 women who have been friends since law school. They came together when Betts is going through the process of becoming a Supreme Court justice.
