Shelves: fantasy-and-sci-fi, young-adult, humor, spacey-space-future
This is that new brand of feel-good sci-fi, and it is just trying wayyyy too hard to be cute and clever and charming and comedic.  It is not any of those things.  It is light entertainment, but its try-hard attitude annoyed me.  I guess I just don't like "feel good" anything.  I am cold and I have no heart.
