Heartwarming and quirky without being maudlin or precious, this is a charming story about family, friends, the Chivalric Code, and papayas. Some days I'd like to sit at a bar and have a ginger ale with a slice of orange and have someone listen to my "story."

Sometimes, children know who they are in ways that make adults uncomfortable; at other times, parents have needs or expectations that children find it difficult to meet. A beautiful book for anyone who’s ever guiltily enjoyed solitude and pined for a more chivalrous world.
Just a sweet read. Just like a good children's book should, it touches on hard topics with an artful hand. And there's just a lot of ingenuity, hope, and real conversations. And love. Lots of love.
