Outstanding! The author masterfully reveals how the students come to understand each other through listening to each other's poetry. Highly recommended!

Plot: A bunch of kids are inspired by the poetry segment of their class and write their own poetry.
Both of my daughters had this book assigned for 8th grade English. I guess I can see why it’s so popular with teachers, the plot is a teacher’s fantasy! (Although I see some reviews from teachers here on gr who didn’t like this either! So I don’t know ...). Kudos to my school for trying to add diversity to the assigned reading, but they can do better. (They can start by having more than one author ...more
