Book one of the Wideacre trilogy.

The begining of this book read like a piece of classic literature but seeing how this was historical fiction it it's only normal.

Beatrice was a strong women who loved her home and her land and would do anything to insure she would never leave it.

Some key words that comes to mind when thinking about this book: murder, deception, romance, lust.

I don't understand why the rating of this book is so low. It was probably one of Gregory's best works yet. It is a completely original idea, not based off the lives of real people and I think she handled it exceptionally well. Of course, like most of her books, it does have questionable content. But, the book was amazing.
