You know, I wanted to like this book, I really did. I had heard a lot of awful things about this series and author before I started, but a lot of good things also. From comments on other reviews of the Wheel of Time series, it's something that stirs up a lot of strong emotions - negative, or positive. For my part, 'it was okay' kind of sums up my response.

I had heard about this series for years and finally got the first one from the library. This was more than I expected. The story development is so rich and it's such a massive, epic story. The magic is easy to follow and understand and I really have nothing bad to say about this one. I'm going to read the rest, but these are not quick fluffy reads. I want to be able to immerse myself, so I'm going to wait a bit to pick up book 2. ...more

This is my second time reading this book, and this time I completed most of it through Audible.

The audiobook is truly wonderful!

I noticed things this time that I didn't last time.

I truly enjoyed the world and all of the creatures and characters.
