Once again I'm amazed by Rowling's writing skills!

This is the second time I'm reading the series(in an attempt to remember the story before I read The Cursed Child) and I am positive it will never get boring. I could just keep reading and rereading for ever. What can I say about Harry Potter? I used to be one of those who mock the books, mock the films without having read a single page. Harry's story touched my soul and it will stay with me forever.

I have always enjoyed the world of Harry Potter, and I think the first is my favorite. That is nothing new. However, this particular edition of the first novel has changed this. This edition specifically is now my all time favorite book (at least until the other editions come out lol). This completely changed my views on the world and honestly re-sparked my love for all things Harry Potter.

The story is the same that we have (almost) all read and loved. We watch this boy grow and get loved for th I have always enjoyed the world of Harry Potter, and I think the first is my favorite. That is nothing new. However, this particular edition of the first novel has changed this. This edition specifically is now my all time favorite book (at least until the other editions come out lol). This completely changed my views on the world and honestly re-sparked my love for all things Harry Potter.

The story is the same that we have (almost) all read and loved. We watch this boy grow and get loved for the first time and overcome some major hurdles. We fall right into this world with him and learn about magic at the same time Harry is. I've always liked that there is growth for him. He learns important life lessons, has fun, and realizes things aren't always sunshine and daisies.

I also love his friends, Ron and Hermione. Ron is definitely a funny one. He is really the first good thing/person to happen to Harry. He comes from such a loving (and big) family. He's really able to help Harry and I think Harry helps him too. Hermione is one of my favorites. She's smart, fairly independent, and a very good friend to both Harry and Ron. Neville is also a favorite of mine. I've always been a fan of the underdog and he really seems like one.

Now onto my favorite part of this edition- the illustrations! OMG they made this book for me. They were so gorgeous and just utterly amazing. I have a new found love for Jim Kay, the illustrator. I love when pictures/illustrations have a bit of texture and you can feel the difference in some of them. I also loved the built in bookmark. The illustrations really helped everything tie together for me. The illustrations show things that weren't necessarily in the movies and they're also different than what is in the movies so it was still new.

I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend this. If you like Harry Potter-read it. If you've never read Harry Potter-read it. If you have kids who you want to introduce to Harry Potter-read it with them! It is just utterly amazing.
