Shetterly does an excellent job recounting the work and lives of the hidden figures who made America's space exploration popular. With first hand accounts of their struggles to be seen as more than black and women in a time when it was tough to be either, much less both, this book is a crucial step in bringing these hidden pieces of history to light and sharing their accomplishments with the world.
