A delightful read about some difficult topics, bullying and domestic violence, interspersed with other family issues, child rearing, cliques, true friendship, and love. The author did a great job at making these issues into what felt to me like a light read, while still sharing tremendous insight and wisdom. And the mystery was well done too. 5 stars!

This is a novel of unraveling personal secrets among a group of suburban Kindergarten parents. From the beginning, the reader is aware of some tragedy at a school fund raiser that has prompted a police investigation. But, we do not learn of the victim’s identity or the exact nature of the situation until near the end of the book. This novel has been getting lots of attention so I thought I'd give it a go. It did take me quite a while to get through the first 150 pages or so, but the story gained steam after that. At times it was a little difficult keeping track of who the characters were and which husband and which child(ren) went with whom. Each of the women portrayed had their issues, but they weren't as cliched as I thought they would be. There were definitely some deeper issues that would make this book a good jumpin
