This was a great book to read the last week of summer break .... it’s s great book about relationships Although some of the storyline was a bit stretched and outlandish. It kept my attention Cute story - with a happy ending

My first novel by Sheehan. Rocky is searching for something to hang on to after the sudden death of her young husband. She decides to seek solitude by moving to a small island where no one will question who she is or what she does. A psychologist, she wants to seek an entirely new life style, and becomes an animal control officer.

As a volunteer at the local animal shelter, I was recommended this book. It did not disappoint and in fact soared over all my expectations for the book. I started it this morning around 1:30am after finishing up another book. Needless to say 5am rolled around and I realized that I had almost completely read the book! I just had to finish it. The novel does an excellent job of showing a person going through the process of grief. And how all people need some form of healing. The novel contains a plethora of odd characters who differ in personalities and problems. I liked how Sheehan incorporated animals/pets in the story. I also liked the changing point of view throughout the novel. It allowed you to understand and really know each character instead of just hearing the main character's story. ...more
