I have a library copy of this book which I had borrowed before all the libraries were closed. However, half way through this book I knew I would want a copy of my own so bought one online. It is a fantastic book and one that I know I shall return to.

What a valuable history lesson! It is such a needed non fiction account of 5 women killed by Jack the Ripper billed as the killer of prostitutes refuted In this well documented account! No more spoilers until we discuss it as our. On fiction selection next month, but I highly recommend it if you are interested in the real lives of these and other women in the 1800s with very few options.
I really enjoyed reading more about the victims' lives primarily because of the insight it gives into the way people lived at the time. so many fiction books really gloss over the truth of exactly how hard life was even with the industrial age bringing modern conveniences such as gaslighting and more modern plumbing.

Well researched, interesting view of the who Jack the Ripper's victims were. I wish the author hadn't been so insistent on presenting her research in such a dry manner but ultimately a worthwhile read.
