Shelves: put-down

I was very disappointed in this book. It looked really good when I read about it in Library Journal and our library director purchased it at my request. Unfortunately, I found it so shallow, I had to put it down rather quickly.

The premise of the book is promising: A Mennonite woman moves back in with her parents after some medical problems and her husband leaves her for a man.

This book was really funny! You get to step into the life of a former mennonite and muse with her as she examines her quirky religious family and her off-beat upbringing. Even though the author went through a very rough period in her life while she was writing this book, she was positive and upbeat and appreciative for all the good things in life. Definately a feel good book.

I enjoyed learning about the Mennonite culture. This was slow at places for me. Think it could have moved quicker with more depth to the storyline. It was difficult to get involved with the characters.
