I was very disappointed in this book. It looked really good when I read about it in Library Journal and our library director purchased it at my request. Unfortunately, I found it so shallow, I had to put it down rather quickly.
The premise of the book is promising: A Mennonite woman moves back in with her parents after some medical problems and her husband leaves her for a man.
I was interested in reading about Janzen's former view of her family and herself and how that might now grow or change. ...more

I hardly ever laugh out loud when reading....it's just not that funny to me. I did just that a couple of times here, and chuckled several other times. I'll keep this one for a reread, another thing I hardly ever do

This book was really funny! You get to step into the life of a former mennonite and muse with her as she examines her quirky religious family and her off-beat upbringing. Even though the author went through a very rough period in her life while she was writing this book, she was positive and upbeat and appreciative for all the good things in life. Definately a feel good book.
