What Members Thought
Wow wow wow! This was so good, I could not put it down for the last half. I predicted every twist and then was proven correct, but it was still an unexpectedly satisfying read. Books about books, books about writing, about authors ... always captivate me.
This was a fun psychological thriller with sufficient twists to keep it interesting, although I guessed most before they were revealed. A conversation with a student at a writer’s workshop becomes the inspiration for the instructor’s novel years later. When that novel rockets to the top of the bestseller’s list, the author begins to receive anonymous emails and social media postings accusing him of plagiarism. My third or fourth 5 star read this month! My friend Martha saw it listed on a monthly newsletter and picked it up saying it grabbed her so I had to have it! And, she was right! Unusual, gripping and totally believeable right to the end! Thank you, Martha and Jean Hanford!
It was a slow start for me but once it took off I was all in.
3.5 It started off slow but the finale threw me for a loop.
