3.5 The 1800s were the heydey for poisoners. Poisons were readily available and there were, until the middle of the century, no tests that could detect poison as a cause of death. Arsenic was the poison of choice, but was the first poison detection test that was developed. Enterprising individual went on to find other poisons, there were many from which to choose. Dr. Creams poison of choice was strychnine. He would kill many in the US, Canada and England.

A very well researched historical nonfiction on Dr Thomas Neill Cream, who may have been the very first serial killer ever. Covering parts of the United States (mainly the Chicago and surrounding area), Canada and London in the mid to late 1800's, Cream took his killing spree to a total of at least 10 people, mostly women. Convicted twice for murder, pardoned once by an idiot Governor of Illinois, while he was in Stateville - a prison in Joliet Illinois - after serving 14 years. And final
