I expected to be impressed with The Widower's Tale, if for no other reason than I enjoyed Julia Glass' Three Junes so much. Both books share narrators who struggle with identity, family, and sexual relationships. The Widower's Tale explores the lives of four men whose paths intersect around--of all things--a preschool. 3 different men, all connected together through the circumstances. I felt like it was unrealistic for a woman to capture the thoughts and motivations of a man successfully. Too detailed, too many random thoughts and spinoffs going in too many directions for my taste.
