Let's start with the positive with this novel. This is my first Jeanette Wells novel and all in all, I did enjoy it. I listened to the audiobook and the author did a good job narrating the story with the accents of the characters. I loved the protagonist of this novel. Meet Sallie, a strong female, independent woman in the 1920's. She's a real spitfire! Sallie doesn't have much of an interest in marriage and this is just considered odd back then. I read her previous book, a memoir Glass Castles. I don’t remember too much. What I remember it was a sad book about her parents who were nomads. I don’t remember too much.
