A lovely story, I could not put it down. Shapiro reads her own words and it was very good.

All people, even those who have died, are connected by strands as delicate as a spider web. This is the premise behind this novel which follows the members of two neighboring families across 35 years. I am not a fan of non-linear storytelling, even less when the focus jumps between multiple characters. This novel had the sweetness of the Lifetime Channel. I am sure that many will like this book, but it is not for me. 2.5 stars

The book opens in 1985. One summer night, three teenagers are hanging out and drinking when they decide to go for a drive. In a split second, everything changes, and for the Wilf family, the decisions made in the subsequent moments will change all of them.

I was excited to read this book, but ultimately it was just ok for me. It was a slow burn and the nonlinear sequence felt jarring and abrupt. The characters were hard for me to relate to. I understand and appreciate the author's message--how on ...more
