What Members Thought

I wasn’t sure about this book and have still not made up my mind.
There were parts where I laughed out loud, parts that were brutally adult and other parts I thought darn right silly.
I was never taking in by the ‘deception’ though that didn’t bother me and unlike others I found the author’s interjections added to the story rather than detracted.
I adored the character of Inigo Montoya and also liked Fessik but found Buttercup annoying in the extreme.
And the ending was a disappointing anti-climax ...more

I assigned this as summer reading for my students, and I'm glad I did. Even rereading it with my "teacher eye" (grammatical delights: polysyndeton! anaphora! parallelism! antimetabole!), I'm still having a good time. I hope the kids appreciate the humor as much as I am.
