This is a memoir of grief. Sonali Deraniyagala was on vacation at a seaside resort in Sri Lanka with her husband, two sons, parents and best friend in December 2004 when the massive tsunami struck. That day, she lost her two young sons, her loving husband and both her parents and she continues to wonder why she was f ...more

This book is intense. I have a lot of respect for the author. I can't imagine writing a book like this after the tragedy that she encountered. It was difficult to get through because of the tragedy but it is a beautifully written story/account and it is worth reading. It will have you thinking about the love that you share with those dearest to you. ...more

this is a book about traveling with Sonali through her grief . It is raw emotion. It is real.
