You'd think that with how short this book is, it would leave you wanting just a bit more.

Kai Ashante Wilson has the amazing talent of creating a world so rich and so beautiful with little words and pages. From the start, I was hooked. It's not everyday you read about an all black cast in high fantasy. Even rarer are the queer characters but A Taste of Honey has it all.

It's a beautiful, heart-wrenching story about love, sacrifices and identity. I hope everyone has the chance to pick it up becaus

I'll rarely turn away Fantasy novel or novella with m/m romance! I really enjoyed this one. It starts with the meeting of Aqib and Lucrio, the smell of forbidden love is strong in the air. A Taste of Honey is such an interesting story. From the way it is written to the way it is displayed to my eyes, the story of Aqib falling in love with a warrior and his life after it made me feel so much.

I semi thought of The Winner's Curse trilogy when I read this. Mainly because of the political intrigue, the royalty, the forbidden romance ~though this is 100% LGBT+ and has POC as main characters.

I do admit at certain times I was a bit confused with the change of scenery and years skips but

I went into this expecting something completely different to what I got...

The writing in this book reminded me of Shakespeare, and by that I mean whilst it was beautiful it was also incredibly confusing. There were large points in this story where I had no idea what was going on. I do think that if that writing style is something you enjoy you should give this a try because the story is actually very interesting. My favourite part of this was definitely the ending, whic

A gorgeous, sexy, non-linear Afrofuturist (?) science-fiction fantasy romance. I'm in love. ...more

Okay so it took me a while to get into it because of the writing style, but overall I really enjoyed it!

I was so emotional throughout the whole book, and I cried during the ending, so there's that.
