This is a fun and unique story that takes place in an East Asian-inspired fantasy world, where one girl works her butt off for the chance to attend the nation's most prestigious military school. Not only does she study strategy and lore and martial arts, but learns she is a shaman as well and can access the Pantheon, for good aims or bad. I was reminded a bit of the video game Jade Empire, in all the best ways.
