Shelves: library, read-in-2019, fantasy, kid-lit

In the beginning, it reminded me a lot of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, but once the border into the Free State was crossed, the story shifted away from that.

I very much liked the colourful, cheery atmosphere and I wish there were books for adults in that fashion. Until there are, I'll just have to read kidlit again. ...more

Rescued by a red-haired showboat she finds a real home as he sponsors her for his society's elite training school. Shelves: arc, fantasy, ya-and-younger

I really loved this. It's the perfect mix of mystery and whimsy, aimed at younger readers but sweet and uplifting even for us big kids. Looking forward to the sequel now.
