This was lyrical and whimsical. I enjoyed it and am not sure, but this seems like a middle grade.
It's an adventure through different times and the ways Halloween or really death is celebrated. It's also about these boys trying to save their friend Pipkin also known as Pip.
This was an easy read and would make a great read to read aloud to children. I enjoyed that this style of writing was different from what I normally expect from the author. I will enjoy passing this book on to my children. ...more

This is a very strange little book. Halloween is my very favorite holiday. This book goes through different eras and the impact the traditions had on Halloween now as a group of young boys follow a strange man to save their friend. Their are a few difficult questions in the book that the children are made to answer in order to save their friend. I found it interesting but a little too strange.
