The characters, the history, the mystery and suspense all come together in this hard to put down book. This story of a young archeologist on a secretive mission is full of twists and turns as she travels from Canada to Bulgaria to Italy. Fans of historical fiction, mystery/thrillers and suspense will love this intelligent and entertaining read.

I really liked this book. It's mostly set in Bulgaria, a place I know little about, which makes it an interesting read. Just like in the first book, Kossara and her friends delve into history, this time to find a mysterious book. I thought the history of the Bogomils was fascinating, but also the references to the communist era. It was fast-paced and kept me on my seat. The ending was a little abrupt, but I hope book 3 will answer my remaining questions.
