Loved the audio version of this book! Remember watching the movie years ago -it’s time to watch it again. And time to go back to Italy for a visit!!
I gave this a 4 because I love how warm and sentimental it is, and I love the movie version too. In some ways it’s very dated, having been written in 1922 but it also feels timeless. A lovely story; I’m glad I finally read it.
Read the paper book. This book is.... well, enchanting. If you are happy, your happiness is amplified; if you are not, you are immediately drawn to the idea that a holiday in a magical place may be the solution to your troubles. If you love to travel, you will want to jump on a plane and go somewhere, anywhere, to feel invigorated by a new, exciting locale. I've read my share of action-oriented books, and I'm right fond of plot, but every once in a while a story comes along to remind you that sometimes characters and atmosphere is enough. The Enchanted April is sweet and charming and funny and never crosses the line into twee.
