What Members Thought
I tried starting this book years ago, but I just couldn’t get into it. I had no interest in Chaol. I finally decided to just read it, get it off my to-read shelf, and pushed through the beginning.
After I got through the beginning, the story started to get better. I liked seeing how Chaol and Yrene had to figure out what to do together, and how they both healed throughout the book.
4 stars because the beginning was slow, and because I couldn’t stand Nesryn’s perspective.

3.5 stars. Added an extra .5 star for the last 150 pages. In my opinion, it should've stayed a novella.
