Elizabeth George is superb. Her mysteries are dense and character driven and literary...and always both surprising and satisfying.
If you like mysteries at all, and you haven't read any by George yet, you really need to go read A Great Deliverance. She is one of the authors I automatically buy in hardback--and she's one of the authors I won't switch to e-books for.

another fabulous EG mystery... I stayed away largely after Helen died and have been reluctant to step back into the Met with Havers & Nkata. But this is a pretty good one... better than the last.... 'Something Blood'... that one was not very satisfying but this one, except for the annoying Acting Chief Superintendent Chief Inspector, Aubrey, it's pretty good. Hope she doesn't get the job! Obviously, I reallllllly like this series!

I really enjoy DI Lynley and Sargent Barbara Havers as a team. Their interactions are really interesting, and many of the supporting team ...also interesting. Don't care for the Acting Supervising Isabelle Ardrey's drinking problem, and would have tossed this book due to the children killing a child subplot/case, that was too much. Otherwise this book delivered, though it was a bit too long. Once the murder is "solved" the questions start back up, and the various characters all come back on the
