I kept thinking of VC Andrews when I was reading this book. Don't get too excited; there's no incest. And it's more mundane than VC Andrews, though a bit better-written, in a straightforward sort of way.

My expectations were extremely low when I started this, so just getting interested in the plot was enough for me. I wouldn't actively recommend it, but I was entertained (if sometimes a bit impatient). I thought I had guessed most of it, but I was successfully surprised by the final twist.
