Love it. Loved seeing kyrian and ash and future Nick. Seriously SK could write my grocery list and I would give it five stars. I love every story.

3.5 stars...sorta wish i didn't know SK originally wrote this for her son...near the end some of the little lessons the H, Nick learned, reminded me of those older episodes of Boy Meets World, when Cory (was that his name?) summarized the moral of the story at the end of the ep...Grrr those bits irradiated me.

Anyway, for the most part, Infinity is an action packed read, with only a smidgen of romance...oh but i will mention, for someone who's (IIRC) never read a DH book, a few of the references ...more

"Infinity,(Chronicles of Nick, #1)" is a great read for one reason, the characters. 14 year old Nick Gautier lives in 'Nawlins' with his mother who is a stripper. They barely survive on what she makes, eating expired food and giveaways. Yet, his mother does all she can to raise Nick with the right morals. She keeps a watchful eye on him and does her best to keep him focused on school.

Nick attends a private school where is is bullied constantly over the Goodwill Hawaiian shirts his mother makes h "Infinity,(Chronicles of Nick, #1)" is a great read for one reason, the characters. 14 year old Nick Gautier lives in 'Nawlins' with his mother who is a stripper. They barely survive on what she makes, eating expired food and giveaways. Yet, his mother does all she can to raise Nick with the right morals. She keeps a watchful eye on him and does her best to keep him focused on school.

Nick attends a private school where is is bullied constantly over the Goodwill Hawaiian shirts his mother makes him wear. Also, it does not help that the principal calls him 'trailer trash' and wants Nick permanently kicked out of his school. However, after getting into a fight with a jock who makes rude comments regarding Nick's mother, he is suspended and his life is going to change forever.

A couple of Nick's acquaintances from the hood offer him a quick $100 for a 5 minute look out while they commit a crime. Nick knows it's wrong but decides he needs the money. When he discovers they plan on robbing an elderly couple, Nick stops them, warns the couple to run away and refuses to let his friends follow. That's when everything goes wrong. The trio beat Nick within an inch of his life and just before one of the traitors shoots him a mysterious stranger comes to his rescue. The stranger is Kyrian and he takes Nick to the hospital and contacts his mother. Nick is frantic because he knows they cannot afford any hospital costs but Kyrian assures him he will take care of the expense. Not accustom to generosity of any kind, Nick and his mom insist that they repay Kyrian and so it is planned that Nick will go to work for him after school.

The world in which Nick lives in is filled with zombies, weres, vamps and other demonic creatures. Yet, he is slowly becoming aware they really exists. It seems Nick's destiny will make him prey to every paranomral creature walking the streets and if he is to survive, he will have to learn to protect not only his body but his soul as well.

This story is chocked full of action, snarky humor, and just plain old fun. You cannot help but love Nick's character because he is so likeable and always trying to look out for his mother at any cost. I also enjoyed all of the other supporting characters especially, Simi. Each character was unique and added that extra special humor and excitement into the mix. If I had a criticism it would be that I was shocked to find so many editin errors from a proven publishing house. There were beginning quotation marks without end quotes all over the place as well as grammatical errors as well. Additionally, at times there was just too much going on with the plot. There were too many characters and too many subplots popping up all over the place. Thus, the reason for me rating the book 4 stars rather than 5. With that being said, I will definitely go on to read the second book in the series. Hopefully, the editing will improve and the plot will balance out a little better. ...more

Really enjoyed this book, the only problem I had was that I haven't read the other series before it. It was perfectly fine to read without having read the others but I could also tell when it would have benefited to have read them, if that makes sense. ...more

I wasn't sure that this book would keep my interest as I'm not much of a fan of young adult reads but as usual Ms. Kenyon out did herself and of course I love Nick so I was already drawn in before starting this book. Looking forward to the next installment. Of course my favorite dark hunter made an appearance and so did Simi. If you are a fan of the dark hunter novels you will definitely love this one. Highly recommend. ...more
