What a a beautiful and simply unique person you are Carl Sagan !...

a beautifully written Novel that took me into other places in the universe while reading it , and it really shows how a highly sophisticated and passionate scientist Carl Sagan was.

i really liked the build of the main character " Ellie " and felt like that she was a feminine extension of Carl Sagan himself. and the novel had many nice philosophical views that were lovely debated.

This was a great SF novel (and Sagan's only work of SF), and much better than the movie. It brings out and discusses unexpected and interesting similarities between the pursuit of science and the pursuit of religion. ...more

Breathtaking experience in reading such a well written novel. It is a Contact with science, mathematics & human values. Author & great astronomer Carl Sagan constructed a means to venture the Cosmos & our rich historical background giving us a valuable lesson for the future. I have read science fiction novels set in distant future but this is a science fiction written about a time period not very far in future & for present readers it is already set well in our past time period. unexpectedly political (?) and with very little actual alien details. I expected something different but understand the realism that Sagan wanted to convey. The ending was interesting.
